Roca THINK TURF is a fellowship of thought leaders who aim to create a better environment through a process of inquiry, dialogue and action through a series of architectural conversations.

Delhi Event – held on 26th April 2019 at La Meridien Gurgaon

Architectural conversation where we trowel issues, examine conditions of the built form and question assumptions. It is an effort to review opinions and critically evaluate them in the context of changing perspectives.

Mumbai Event – held on 24th May 2019 at Tote on the Turf, Mahalaxmi, Mumbai

An architectural conversation on ‘Passive Design’ where we examine this effort not only in terms of building design, but also related to material science and the evolving urban context.

Ahmedabad Event – held on 28th June 2019 at Renaissance Ahmedabad Hotel, Ahmedabad

Through a film presentation, a keynote address and a panel discussion we will examine aspects of “Conservation Architecture” including issues of identity, policy and advocacy associated with the preservation of our cultural heritage.

Kochi Event – held on 26th July 2019 at Kochi Mariott Hotel, Kochi

Through a film presentation, a keynote address and a panel discussion on “Acting Local but Thinking Global” we aim to examine concerns of regionalism, improving the local construct by on-boarding global best practices and using available knowledge networks to better and renew habitat.

Bangalore Event – held on 8th November 2019 at Shangri La, Bangalore

Through a film presentation, a keynote address and a panel discussion we will examine aspects of “Architectural Patronage”.
During the course of the evening we will probe the evolving patron/architect relationship, the role of the state as a patron and explore other dimensions of patronage in shaping our new urban realities.

Pune Event – held on 20th February 2020 at J W Mariott, Pune

Through a film presentation, a keynote address and a panel discussion we will examine aspects of “Freespace”. The idea of “Freespace” was proposed during the last Architecture Biennale in Venice where this theme was opened to interpretation. The showcase included endeavours ranging from exceptional public spaces to instances of buildings that offered an added (and unexpected) dimension to the original brief.
